The Lifesaving Society is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning and water-related injury through training programs, Water Smart public education, drowning research, aquatic safety management services and lifesaving sport.


Ever Active Schools is a provincial initiative designed to create and support healthy school communities. Through collaborative partnerships, projects-based work, knowledge exchange and competency-based learning opportunities, Ever Active Schools spearheads meaningful collaboration between the health, education, recreation and active living sectors

Active for Life is a Canadian not-for-profit social enterprise founded by B2ten. They are a national initiative created to help parents give their children the right start in life through the development of physical literacy.

The MRA recognizes that through collaboration can we reach our goals and we are so grateful for our partner organizations that help us in a variety of capacities. Our partners are separate organizations wanting to provide opportunities and services to MRA region communities not just in collaboration with MRA but individually. The MRA is thankful for the continuous financial support from the Western Canada Lottery Program (WCLP) funding. Without WCLP we would not be able to work so diligently towards our goal of enhancing the quality of life of the Mackenzie region residents through physical literacy and active for life opportunities while fostering and supporting development of recreation, volunteers, and leadership. 

Throughout each fiscal year, as MRA receives funding and sponsorship for various projects and programs. We would like to recognize and thank these sponsors in the space below for helping us enhance our programs and services.

GNWT grants from Municipal and Community Affairs and Health and Social Services have all helped MRA from year to year to provide programs or services that have not otherwise been possible to offer without the various granting programs that the GNWT offers.
