Nathan had first heard about the MRA from Shane Thompson around the time of its formation. He joined and continues to serve on the board as he feels it's an integral part of being in the recreation field in NWT. Nathan enjoys being on the executive board as he can continuously learn more about recreation and how it's developing in addition to building his experience and knowledge of being a part of a board of directors. When programs and events work out and are a success for everyone, Nathan feels proud and motivated to continue to volunteer.

Janie Hobart was one of the founding members of the Mackenzie Recreation Association. She continues to be a part of the MRA and serves on the board because she feels it is important for all community members to have more opportunities to be healthy and active. Also, Janie believes in the benefits to meet and work together regionally and exchange ideas and provide regional sport and recreation opportunities.

While being on the executive board for MRA Janie enjoys meeting new people, sharing ideas, providing opportunities for community members. As an avid volunteer, she also loves seeing all the happy and smiling faces.
